These four top hats are all the same height, but the length of each brim is different. In other words, the hats are equally tall but vary in width.

One of these four hats has a brim and height that are the same length. Which hat is it?

Here are the hats. I think. I don't know, I'm more used to texting using a phone rather than a crystal.

It's an optical illusion because you'd perceive the vertical and horizontal lengths differently so it'd make something like hat C seem like the correct answer.

last minute monthly puzzle - september

[ You thought I had forgotten about this. WRONG. It's also Dad themed because I promised. One month it won't be Professor Layton, I swear. Not that there's any warning from Minato about this either. He just shoots him a text (probably in the middle of the night, again) that goes: ]

This one's quite easy, so there's a time limit. You have to reply within three minutes or there will be consequences. The son is 22 years old. His dad is as old as the son's age, plus half of his own age. How old is dad?

[ i can't believe that i'll be able to type down 'i'm not calling you daddy' in this thread. things shuichi never thought he'd say but anyway, shuichi replies back a minute later because he WOKE UP FROM THIS TEXT MESSAGE he's going to murder minato ]

[ Am I late with this??? Timezones are confusing, man. Anyway, Minato waited until the very last moment to bother Shuichi with this. At the very least, if it's any consolation, he hits him up before midnight. ]

[ thank god that this isn't at 2am. to be completely honest, though, shuichi has been a little curious about this, wondering what time minato would text him this time and in a weird way, he's kind of been looking forward to it? he supposes that it's just nice that someone is paying this much attention to him and the riddles are kind of fun too. ]

[ He needs to tinker with his amulet for this one so Shuichi can see a certain puzzle. Minus Akane, obviously. ]

[ Did they run into each other during Hatching Day festivities? Maybe they did. Maybe they did not. Whatever happened, Minato cannot be stopped and Shuichi is going to get a Hatching Day themed gift. Namely, this detective dragon plush toy because that's clearly how Shuichi would have looked like if he was a dragon. There's a note, too:

[Shuichi will find a gift wrapped in a furoshiki in his mailbox. Inside will be a pair of blue mittens, some homemade red bean mochi and oolong tea leaves. The tea leaves gave off a hint of peppermint. A card is attached to the gift.]
